Application

 

Steam Sterilization of a wide range of instruments, rubber articles, metal components and fabric commonly sterilized in any Hospital. Sterilization can be carried out at 1210 C or 1340C depending on the load configuration for settable sterilization times.

Chamber Fabrication.

The chamber is RECTANGULAR in shape and is fabricated from stainless steel S.S. 316 L with full argon welding. The S.S. chamber has a high resistance to steam corrosion. The chamber is easily cleanable and a 2% slope is provided for full draining of condensates. A removable screen plug is provided in the drain lines to prevent clogging of the drainpipes and fittings. The chamber is provided with a safety valve.

Jacket Fabrication.

The chamber is re-enforced with stainless steels. S.S.304 jacket. The jacket besides re-enforcing the chamber also ensures temperature uniformity in the sterilization space. The jacket is provided with a safety valve.  

Insulation

The jacket is insulated with 50mm thick non-fiber shredding resin bonded glass wool, which is held in place with a SS outer cover.

Design Standard

The pressure vessel is designed as per ASME SEC VII and welding joints are partially radio graphed for high security.

Stand Fabrication.

The steam sterilizer is mounted on a stainless steel SS 304 stand. All the accessories are   mounted on the stand. This reduces installation and commissioning time and makes re-installation easy, whenever required.

Contamination Seal

A Stainless Steel flush mounting is fitted into the sterile area wall to avoid any cross flow of air between the sterile and non-sterile side.

Single/Double Vertical Sliding Door.

Ø The sterilizer is equipped with automatic sliding door.

Ø The door is moved vertically by a pneumatic cylinder at touch of a button for opening and closing. A high temperature resistant silicone-sealing gasket is pneumatically actuated for effective sealing. The Door has door obstruction safety.

Ø Door interlocking to prevent simultaneous opening of both doors in case of double door machines only. The door is fabricated from SS 316 L material.

Vacuum Pump

A suitable capacity water ring Vacuum Pump is provided for creating high vacuum in the chamber. This Vacuum Pump is used for mechanical air removal prior to sterilization and subsequently for post sterilization vacuum drying.

Steam Condenser

The condenser fabricated from stainless steel is fitted in the exhaust / vacuum line to condense the steam before entering inside the vacuum pump.

The steam generator is fabricated from stainless steel SS 316 L plates. Water filling is automatic through a dosing pump. The steam generator is insulated with resin embedded glass wool and the insulation is held in place with a stainless steel outer cover. The Steam Generator is provided with two no’s water level sensors. One sensor is provided at the bottom of the steam generator to protect the heaters from dry run. The other sensor at the top is to maintain the control of water level. A safety valve is provided.

Piping

Piping is of SS 316 L. The pipeline has 2% slope for complete drain to prevent contamination.  

Valves / Gauges

Control valve in the process lines are ball valves with pneumatic rotary actuators. These valves have S. S. 304 contact part with Teflon seal.
Manual valves whenever used are S. S. 304 Ball Valves with Teflon seat.
Solenoid valve are used for actuating control valves as response to an electric signal from the control panel.
Jacket and chamber are provided with pressure gauge and compound gauge.

Validation Port

Provision is made for fixing a validation port.

Shelf for Model (A)

The “MEDISTER” is provided with one removable perforated stainless steel shelf for easy loading of linen and instruments packs.

Railing, Carriage & Trolley

Railing:
There is a pairof S.S. 316 L railings inside the chamber.  Rail design is suited for smooth and easy loading and unloading of the carriage.  The rail is removable for ease of cleaning.

Loading Carriage:
Fabricated from S.S. 316 L Stainless steel the loading carriage can be designed to suit the specific application of the customer.

Loading and unloading Trolley:
The floor trolley is fabricated from sturdy S.S. 304 tubular members welded together.  The top frame is on heavy studs for height adjustment.  The trolley is provided with four swiveling castor wheels made of Polypropylene and fitted in a stainless steel bracket.

The “MEDISTER” is provided with one Loading Cart and two Floor Trolleys for smooth and easy loading.

Surface Finish

The chamber & the door are finished to a surface finish better than 0.8 Ra value

Recorder

On line printing facility for recording temperature, pressure and time for batch record is provided in Fully Automatic machines.

PLC Control System

The steam sterilizer is operated through a PLC. The PLC is equipped with a non-erasable memory and battery back up for in-interrupted operation.

HMI

Coloured 7inch Man Machine Interface (MMI) for simple soft touché screen and graphicdisplay.All message, temperature and pressures are easily displayed on the LCD.

6 user defined programs for reliable and accurate sterilization:
